Press Release - 15 June 2011

Over the past decade or more the North Haverhill Fair has become known for putting on stage some great up and coming acts. These concerts have featured some future number one country artists and this year seems to be no different.

On Friday, July 29 Thayer Stage will be the site for country music’s new “Family Man”. Craig Campbell’s first album features that song and it has gone up the charts to start him down the path of stardom. Like all the concerts at the fair there is no extra fee to see the concert. There is some reserved seating for VIP’s and fair volunteers. The rest is on bleachers or in an area for lawn chairs. The Friday concert begins at 8:30 PM.

The Saturday night show this year will feature a foursome of voices that form “Gloriana”. The two guys and two girls also have hit the charts hard with their golden single “Wild at Heart”. Gloriana was also named the 2010 Academy of Country Music Top New Vocal Group. Show time on Saturday will be 8:00 PM.

Besides those two nights there will also be three other chances to see and hear some great music from this wonderful area of the fair. Wednesday night will feature Rory Sullivan and some quality contemporary progressive folk rock. Though not as big a name, the voice of this singer/songwriter is just as big. And to the delight of many locals, Matt Musty of Piermont, will be on stage playing drums for Rory. This concert will fire up at 7:00 PM with a break for the annual Queen competition at 8:00 PM.

Thursday night at the stage will be the second year of North Haverhill Idol. With rules similar to the famous TV show, three judges will also be on stage handing out comments about those who perform. The preliminary round begins at 6 PM with the finals getting under way at 9 PM. Potential contestants must submit a video by July 20 to be eligible to perform. Of course there is much more than music at North Haverhill Fair. Every day has animal pulling events in the covered Bishop Arena. Or see Rosie’s Racing and Performing Pigs, always a crowd favorite. If you like motorized events there is plenty to choose from. Demolition Derbies on Wednesday & Friday nights. Tractor Pulling on Saturday beginning at noon. And the Sunday 4x4 Pull to wrap it all up

Another big attraction this year is the Thursday night T-Bar-T Rodeo. Or see the Woodsmen’s competition on Saturday. If you are looking for the thrill of carnival rides, Fiesta Shows provides plenty. And with the special bracelet pricing on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, it is affordable.

While at the fair be sure to check out the dairy barn and the goat and sheet tent. Or visit the Barnyard Pals right next to the Adventure Tent which has plenty of activities, plus some quiet times for those who need it. Add in the commercial exhibits, 4-H & Grange displays, the Maple Museum and you have the North Haverhill Fair.
